Model: A7000|Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi USB Adapter not detected macOS Big Sur

I'm trying to install a Nighthawk ac1900 USB Adapter on a mates macbook pro that meets the hardware requirements but it's not detecting the Adapter.

I've seen a lot of talk about it not being compatible with macOS Big Sur with a fix in the works back in Q3 2021 but can't find any information from that date onwards.

Does anyone know of any new information since then or some kind 9f fix for the issue?
