N300 Wireless USB Adapter WNA3100 Unable to connect to Internet with new PC and Windows 10

I just purchased a new PC with Windows 10. I'm unable to connect to my wireless router with the WNA 3100 adapter. I was able to install the setup CD on the computer but when I try to open up the WNA 3100 this message comes up: There are no compatible drivers for this device.

I also get this: The drivers for this device are not installed: (Code 28)

Because I am off line I'm unable to download any kind of update.

Is there any way to install this device on my computer?
Please help

Almost certainly too old. This thing dates back to 2013.

There are drivers for Windows 10 and this device.

WNA3100 (N300) Wireless USB Adapter Support | NETGEAR

then here:

WNA3100 Software Version 2.2.0.4 (Supports Win8/8.1) | Answer | NETGEAR Support

You managed to post this message here.

Try downloading the new drivers and transferring them to a USB drive. Install from that.

Some USB adapters will use the generic drivers that come bundled with Windows.

Thank you. That worked.

The download and USB install or the "native" drivers?

I ask for the benefit of anyone with the same issue in future.

The download and USB install.

Not being a techie, that hadn't occurred to me, but it worked easily.

Again, thanks so much!

These days stuff like USB adapters doesn't come with a CD. So you have to get used to downloads.

But that can lands you in chicken-and-egg territory. How can you download the drivers for a wifi connector when you need that connector to get you on to the Internet?

I know!

Thankfully I have a second computer so I could troubleshoot with that, and download the drivers.

Not sure what I would have done otherwise.

There's the challenge.

I was thinking "mobile". The thought of downloading on a limited mobile phone account, or even using wifi, and then getting it on to a USB drive is beyond the skills of many people.

The good news is that the new drivers worked for you.
