ho un NETGEAR WNDA3100v2 N600 Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter

La versione v2 per mette lo switch da 2.5 a 5.

Se sì come devo fare?

Ho uno SKY wifi hub

You have to set your router to display both bands. Then you simply select the 5ghz band

But where do I have to make the selection?

The router is automatically displaying bpth bands and other devices (like Apple TV) have been linked automatically

Or linux? Or macOS. 

Whatever operating system you use, you select which band to connect with. 

Unless the router using a single ssid function (same ssid for both bands). Then its more complicated.
