Model Identification of JGS524 Series Switch

I haave a JGS524 unmanaged switch. I'm trying to find some technical specs on it, but I see two over versions of this, v1 & v2.

I assume mine is NOT the v2, but is it the v1? or something else?

And where can I find the specs on it?

(I suspect it is a tad old, and it might be worth upgrading to newer version?)

Thanks in advanc3!

Hi @RedBullet,

If you have the JGS524 switch model, it means that you have the JGS524v1 (v = version).

Here below are the differences between JGS524v1 and JGS524v2 switches:

 JGS524v1 vs JGS524v2.jpg

To know more about the JGS524v1 switch, check its datasheet here.

For more information about the JGS524v2 switch, check its datasheet here.

Checkt the product label model information:

JGS524-100xxx (like JGS524-100EUS) == v1.

JGS524-200xxx (like JGS524-200EUS) == v2.

Thanks for the replies. I probably can't take advantage of jumbo frames. So, aside from that anyone think it would be worth upgrading to v2?

Or perhaps a different unmanaged switch?

Thanks, appreciate the feedback and opinions.

@RedBullet,

For me, if ever your current JGS524 switch is not giving you any problems which means its still working fine, I suggest you to stick with it in order to avoid unnecessary cost.

Let me share the link below where you can select the switch that matches your network requirements:

There is also a JGS524NA? What's the one exactly?

Re: Model Identification of JGS524 Series Switch

That's a different thing, it's the SKU for a JGS524 switch for the market with US 110V power supply and the do-not-put-it-into-the-microwave-oven-label.

So that's basically the v1 of the switch?

Not sure if they adopt the SKU with changing hardware versions. Check the label on your switch. On the packaging, you find both the model and the SKU. On the device itself, only the model.
