Netgear GS105PE update Firmware on early model
I am running my network from a Netgear GS724TP switch.
I added a Netgear GS105PE switch when I needed some extra ports in one area. This has Firmware V.18.104.22.168.
Recently I added another Netgear GS105PE switch in another area and it is on Firmware V.22.214.171.124.
I will soon need to expand in yet another area and plan on adding another Netgear GS105PE.
Only some equipment runs on POE and so I am well within the capacity of the GS724TP and it is great to be able to add the small five port extra switch without having to be near a power outlet.
However, I would like to name the switches for identification on the network, and I like to keep Firmware up to date.
This is no problem on the later GS105PE (V.126.96.36.199), but, for the life of me, I cannot access the original GS105PE (V.188.8.131.52) via a web interface and the ProSafe Plus utility will allow me to set the IP address but not add a name or update the Firmware.
Were the original GS105PE 's not accessible via a Web interface ?
Is it at all possible to update the Firmware and make them accessible ?
The default PW was given in the manual, but no user name. Should there be a user name with the early models when trying to access via a web interface ?
Many Thanks in advance,

Welcome to NETGEAR Community. Initial release v184.108.40.206 have no Web GUI support, only v220.127.116.11 or later support Web GUI management.
How to update firmware and manage v18.104.22.168? Insert the resource CD into a computer that is connected to the switch, and install ProSafe Plus Utility to manage DUT including firmware upgrade.
