Netgear GS108 Austausch mit GS116

Hallo,

beim Austausch von meinem GS108 mit dem GS116 musste ich leider feststellen, dass es hier wohl unterschiede (Soft oder Hardware) gibt.

Ein Link mit der Netzwerkarte "JMC250 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller" in Ubuntu Laptoop zum GS108 funktioniert mit 1000baseT/Full.
Ein Link mit der gleichen Karte und Parameter eingesteckt in den GS116 ergibt keinen Link!

Der Link kam nur zustande, da ich den Speed auf 100baseT/Full gestellt habe!

Ist das ein Hardware Konstruktionsfehler von Netgear? Oder ein Fehler der Netzwerkkarte?

Ich möchte die Karte natürlich auch im GS116 mit 1000baseT/Full betreiben.

Kann jemand Helfen oder hat jemand schon die gleichen Erfahrungen gemacht?

Hallo Slas,

es ist die Netzwerkarte die mit dem IEEE802.3az Standard  nicht zurecht kommt. Der Standard ist ja im GS116 eingebaut im GS108 nicht.

Aus einen anderen Thread:

‘According to your description, I think you may use our last generation Gigabit Ethernet controller – JMC251A, this chip was mass production at 2008Y, at that time, the IEEE802.3az specification was not ready yet. So the JMC251A chip might have a connection issue when it connects to other Gigabit Ethernet controller which supports IEEE802.3az and the ‘Speed & Duplex’ of JMC251A sets to ”Auto Negotiation” or ”1Gbps/Full Duplex”, then the link function will abnormal. Therefore our S/W engineer made a workaround – ASD(Auto-Speed-Down) function to force the LAN speed keeping in 100Mbps when user sets the ‘Speed & Duplex’ to “Auto Negotiation” or ”1Gbps/Full Duplex”. My suggestion is to use non-support IEEE802.3az Gigabit switch then your connection speed would keep as 1Gbps.’

Welche Firmware Version ist auf dem GSS116E installiert?

Ich würde zu erst einen Reset auf die Werkseinstellungen vorschlagen.

Um den Switch auf die Werkseinstellungen zurückzusetzen, drücke die "Factory Default" Taste für 30 Sekunden.

Danach starte den Switch neu und teste die Verbindung,

das Model ist kein GS116E sondern nur ein GS116.  Hier kann ich nichts finden zu Rest.

danke für Deine Antwort und Korrektur.

Ob dies ein Fehler der Netzwerkkarte (Treiber, Software) oder Hardware Problem vom Switch ist, kann ich momentan nicht bestätigen,

Hast Du versucht die Trieber der LAN Karte zu aktualisieren?

Hast Du den Switch mit anderen Gigabit LAN Hosts, Switches oder PC´s mit Windows verbunden?

Gibt es das gleiche Problem mit anderen LAN Kabel (CAT5E oder besser)?

Du kannst auch als Test eine Linux Live CD verwenden und überprüfen, ob die Verbindung zum Switch korrekt aufgebaut wird.
