POE switch for a bunch of raspberries!
I need a 16 (at least) port switch for a small cluster of Raspberry Pis. It doesn't need any particular management, just POE to power them. I'm looking at the GS116 switches, they seem to be the lowest cost for 16 powered ports.
It would have to connect to the main JGS524 switch. I'm a bit out of the loop with networking stuff as I retired a few years back, will the above switch uplink without any problems? Can you use any port to uplink without any switches or setup?

Welcome to our community!
There shouldn't have any problems connecting the Raspberry Pi to NETGEAR POE Plus switches as they are compatible to its POE standard. Please make sure that you do have the correct model number before buying the unit. JGS516PE / JGS524PE supports POE and not the GS116. Yes, you can use any port for uplink and you can also just plug and play this devices by default.
