Looking for help on which is the most current / recent manufactured switch - is GS205 newer or older than GS605? What is the difference between the different GS605 versions - is functionality / compatibility different? Is there essentially any difference between the GS 205 and GS 605 for home use (linking TVs/Apple TV).
So just to clarify my question overall, is there any real difference in functionality between GS605 and GS205. Are the different versions hardware parts or software / firmware updates?
The GS205 (v1) Data Sheet is form 2014, the GS205v2 Data Sheet is from 2015, the GS605v3 Data Sheet is from 2011, the GS605v4 Data Sheet is from 2018. So it depends on the hardware version, not just the model number.

On online offerings, you have to talk to the advertiser for details. In a shop, you find e.g. a GS605-400xxx or GS205-200xxx on the label (box and product) along with the model and serial number.
