Active Directory permissions not working #25423837

Hi guys,

Been going though this with Netgear support but they seem hopeless. Im having permissions issues with my NAS, added it to AD and then set up permissions though windows, but people are still getting locked files. Is Netgear AD intergration really bad, have I picked the wrong company here, what are other peoples experences?

Thanks

Did you follow this guide when configuring permissions?

I see you have an open support case and support is waiting on you to provide some information.

Hi liminal1,

You may also try contacting support center to continue with your support case as it seems it is already for escalation, they are already waiting for your response and has been following up since July 15. Click here to see contact number.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Yes I did follow that guide, but Netgear support makes it very hard when they ask a buch or irelivent questions about a task that I have subbmitted before, they told me it was fixed and its not.

If I may ask can you again provide the following:
1. Logs file I have enabled and given remote support access
2. Config fileI have enabled and given remote support access
3. Admin password I have enabled and given remote support access
4. RAID Type I have enabled and given remote support access
5. Number of drives I have enabled and given remote support access
6. Drive Size  Its a permissions issue
7. Drive Manufacturer Its a permissions issue
8. Drive Model and Serial of each Disk Drive Its a permissions issue

Re: Active Directory permissions not working

Hello liminal1,

Those I believe are requirements for escalation. At least give them the system logs and admin password to the NAS, they will be able to get the disk info, RAID config, FW etc from the logs. The admin password is also needed as they will use it to remote access the NAS.
