Hello, I have been using this unit for years without any issue.
I just swapped channel 2 disk to a larger one, 1.5TB, which is under 2TB, and I have used it before without issue.
For some reason, ReadyNas detects the disk, shows correct info in the Info tab, but the disk doesn't show in the volume.
How to add the disk to the volume manually?
Any hint would be appreciated.

The write zeros test will return the disk to a completely blank state, which might also help.

Have you tried re-booting to see if that triggers it?
Since you have previously used it, there may be a residual volume on it and the NAS doesn't know what to do with it. Try connecting it to a Windows PC via SATA or a SATA to USB dock and using Disk Management on a PC to remove any partitions on it. While you have it there, I recoomend you also run the manufacturer's test tool on it just to be sure nothing has happened to it since last used. I am assuming here that you do plan for the drive to have all contents wiped since that's what the NAS would have done with it if it had worked..
The removal and re-installation is best done with the NAS power on, BTW.
If you have no way to connect it to a Windows PC and you have enabled and are comforable with SSH, you can also use fdisk to remove any residual partitioning.
You say you have a Duo V2. If it is a true V2 (says Duo V2 on the front and RAIDar ID's it as a V2), then you do not have the 2TB drive size limit of the V1. I do recall seeing people that have had trouble with volumes >8TB, though.

I have been trying all the different ways but had no luck. However, I do believe what you said is correct, as it simply worked on my another disk, here is what I have.
Disk1 - 2000GB (has important data)
Disk2 - was 750GB, I wanted to switch it to 1500GB. the 750BG one had data on it, after a few times back and forth switching, the data got erased, but at least it still shows up on the volume. The 1500GB one had data on it too, could be accessed by Windows, and I remember I used it on ReadyNas as well, I was simply switching the disks on Disk2 and used both before, then Windows might have changed the partition table in order to read it.
I have tried 1) delete the volume from windows then insert to ReadyNas, 2) fsck on ReadyNas via SSH, then remove/reinsert to ReadyNas, 3) vi /etc/fstab, removed the line for the disk2, then reinsert the disk. For the 750 one, ReadyNas automatically added it to the volume and showed the correct size, but for the 1500 one, it only shows up info, and the status is OK, but won't be added to the volume.
I’m thinking to reset ReadyNas to factory default, but I’m afraid this will erase the data on Disk1. Do you have any other suggestions?

Are you trying to do this with XRAID? If you want the disks to be independent you need to use FlexRaid - creating a second volume (D on the second disk).

I don't own a v2 NAS, so I can't help with the UI. I am thinking that you should download the log zip file, and look for errors.
Another thing you might want to do is test the disk with WD's lifeguard program in a Windows PC. I suggest running both the long generic test and the full erase/write zeros test. You are using an old disk (the model was introduced in 2009) - and it is possible the process is failing due to disk errors.

OK, I see log entries for the successful creation of the D volume with the 750GB drive, but not for the unsuccessful creation with the 1.5TB.

No sure where/what went wrong, but after full erase the disk, it is back online now.
