What status are you seeing with RAIDar?  https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads

Re: Admin Page keeps reloading

Hi StephenB, RAIDAR shows healthy. But cannot browse shares so SMB is not available. SSH cannot  connect as well using putty (Network connection: error), when connecting to the https://x.x.x./admin it always show "connecting to the ready nas admin page".

The page shows up for a while after a few seconds it will go back again to "connectinb blah blah..".

After a few minutes of trying page browser shows ip.address. connection refused.

Kindly help. Thanks.

Re: Admin Page keeps reloading

Can you download the log zip file with RAIDar?

Perhaps see if it will boot up in tech support mode.  See pages 39-41 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RN2120/ReadyNAS_OS6_Rackmount_HWM_EN.pdf

If it will boot in tech support mode, then you could use paid support (my.netgear.com) to troubleshoot it, or alternatively log in with telnet and attempt to diagnose it yourself.

Re: Admin Page keeps reloading

Hi Stephen if we do the reset in Tech Support mode, will it delete all data?

Thanks.

Ok I will try to download the logs via Raidar.

Re: Admin Page keeps reloading

Try to download the logs via Raidar, best is 53% unable to completely download the logs.

Booting into tech support mode won't delete any data.  From there you could attempt to mount the OS partition and the data volume manually, or you could simply use paid support (who can connect remotely).

You could save them in google drive, drop box, etc and PM @JohnCM_S or @Marc_V and ask them to take a look.  Don't post the link publicly.

There should be some errors in dmesg.log or system.log that would give you some idea of why the system isn't finishing the boot.

Also look at disk health in volume.log.  If you scroll down to the section that starts

=== df -h ===
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev 10M 4.0K 10M 1% /dev
/dev/md0 4.0G 955M 2.7G 26% /

you can also see the OS partition fullness (/dev/md0).   A full OS partition can prevent the system from booting.

Re: Admin Page keeps reloading

Yes, you can manually mount the OS partition.

How full is your OS partition?

Re: Admin Page keeps reloading

Left 29GB  on the home partition.

I don't know whether it's the apache or Egnye is messing up.

In tech support mode I couldn't find the apache.conf or the var logs.

Dmesg log, I don't seemt to find anything (but maybe I don't know how to read it, lol)

I asked about the OS partition (/dev/md0 as noted above).

Well, you need to know how to the mount the OS.  But if the OS partition has normal free space you could try an OS reinstall first.

If the OS partition is already full, then the OS reinstall would be a bad idea.

The OS reinstall will set the network connection to use DHCP, and reset the admin password to password.  It will also turn off volume quota.  Data and other configuration settings shouldn't be affected.

I can provide info on how to mount the OS partition.  But fixing apache2 is another matter.   There is no general guide on how to do that.

Not sure how you are trying to access support.  You can email customer.service@netgear.com if you have having trouble.

There are some steps here that might help you navigate the web site: https://community.netgear.com/t5/WiFi-Range-Extenders-Nighthawk/LED-blinking-Continuously-blinking-W...

Re: Admin Page keeps reloading

Basically, OS reinstall will delete everything?

From this link: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS-in-Business/Solved-OS6-6-2-2-Frontview-gone-fix...3)

The boot partition is unavailable in Tech Support mode, I mounted it using:

echo DEVICE partitions > /etc/mdadm.conf
mdadm --examine --scan >> /etc/mdadm.conf
mdadm --assemble --scan
mount /dev/md0 /mnt

The above guide is not the same with mounting the OS partition?

How I access the netgear support is from this link: https://www.netgear.com/support/

I login the I click on my products, choose my product then click on the purchase support.

Upon filling up everything and click country, the country that I want is not listed.

Anyway, thank you for the email. I will ask them.

BTW, I manage to download the diagnostics logs via Raidar. It says, system no errors.

Logs: home.mount Directory /home to mount over is not emppty, mounting anyway.

If i click on the raidar netgear image to get to remote support there is a debug code. I don't know whether i can post the debug code.

Thanks again.

No, it shouldn't delete any of your files (unless something goes wrong).

I believe that code is used by Netgear to access your system remotely.  AFAIK it's safe to post, though unless a mod wants to take a look there's no value in posting it.

With OS-6 you should be able to start RAID and chroot with

# rnutil chroot

You can attempt to mount the data volume using

# btrfs device scan
# btrfs fi show
# mount /dev/md127 /data

Though if you are using flexraid you'd need to use the appropriate mount.  Also, it could be safer to mount it as read-only.

Re: Admin Page keeps reloading

Hi cjb019,

We would like to investigate the issue further by remotely accessing the NAS. Please try enabling the Secure Diagnostic Mode (SDM) on the NAS. You can use this URL:  https://<ReadyNAS IP address>/dbbroker?start_svc=remote-access.service to enable it. You should see this when you access the URL

When it is enabled, please get the 5-digit code from RAIDar then PM it to me.

Re: Admin Page keeps reloading

Hi cjb019,

L3 checked your NAS. He said that he is not sure how to make to appropriate corrections for the NAS because it has bad config. I have PMed the details regarding that.

He can probably make adjustments by disabling Egnyte as well as restoring Samba config back to local users mode. He is requesting if he can have Teamviewer access to one computer that is connected locally with the NAS, so he can SSH to it while it is in Normal mode. You may PM me the Teamviewer ID and password.
