This is a bit of a meandering thread, with several different issues thrown into one bucket.  If your issue is with Veeam, then read message #43 in this thread.

Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 2.1 is out and it contains the mentioned fix. You are welcome to download the latest version from our website.

 

P.S. Upgrade from VAW 20 is fully supported.
