All Folders now show up as *.lnk on Win 7 Machines
I have an Ultra 4 and in the last couple of weeks have started to have a strange issue. It 1st occurred on my IPAD using an application called FileBrowser that would allow me to access files on the NAS from my IPAD. A couple of weeks ago all of the folders I had shared only showed up as *.lnk (links). I thought it was a problem with the IPAD application, but then this week it has started happening on my Windows 7 machines using Windows Explorer. I have a laptop in which all I see on the NAS are *.lnk files, and a desktop where I see both the folder and a *.lnk file. For example, I have a foldered entitled "DATA". On the laptop all I see is "DATA.lnk" and on my desktop I see both the "DATA" folder and "DATA.lnk". I can open the folder fine and access all my data, but if I click on the *.lnk file I get an error message stating "Windows cannot find R:\snkb0ptz\snkb0ptx.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again".
I have rebooted all the machines and all network components with no help.
I am afraid I am about to lose access to my files from all of my computers if I don't resolve this soon.
I also just tried to look at the shares using RAIDar and when I clicked on the SHARE LISTING I received the following pop-up error messages:
"Error in evaluating table display tsl Error: No such interface supported".
When I clicked OK on that error I got a 2nd error message:
"Error in evaluating table display tsub TypeError: Unable to set property "disabled" of undefined or null reference".
I am rebooting now and doing a file consistency check, but don't have much hope this will resolve anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: All Folders now show up as *.lnk on Win 7 Machines
It could be a virus. Who knows. I have never seen this behavior. You could of done a copy, where it just copied the shortcuts (.lnk) files, like if you drag and drop and hold the ALT or CONTROL or SHIFT key it has the option to make shortcuts aka lnk files. If you make a new folder and put files into it, does it turn into lnk files immediately? does it take a while? or does it not happen anymore? Can you use a program like TreeSize on a mapped drive location to see where most of your size is allocated to. See if your folders are there. The virus could be on your Windows side thats just using mallicious attacks on your mapped folders. mmm Maybe try to change the password of your main users that are connecting, if your using guest, try not to use guest.... Also if it is a READYNAS issue, try doing an OS Reinstall. After all that if nothing works, call in for support you might have an escalation of an issue, or it might honestly be a virus in which case if its on the windows side, we wont really be able to help. Try running an intense comprehensive test on your full system.

Have you checked your Auth.log in case of an unwanted intruder? Is it accessible to the WWW or LAN only?
I'd be scanning the W7 machine with something like Malwarebytes and a decent AV. Also run an online scan from somewhere like Trend (Housecall?) etc.

Looks like it is a virus. I have found a lot of information on the internet about it. Search for "snkb0ptz" and you will see what I mean. I am working to get it removed. Hopefully all will go well.
Thanks for your feedback and suggestions.
