Backup Job Not Copying Certain Files

Backup job running on OS-6 box, backing up contents of an OS-4 box.

Log:

Backup Job Name: Temp
Backup Job Type: Incremental
Protocol: rsync
Backup Source: [remote:rsync]/NAS::
Backup Destination: [Temp]/
Backup Start Time: Mon Jul 3 2017 9:45:48
Backup Finish Time: Mon Jul 3 2017 9:45:52
Backup Status: Success

What the BeyondCompare utility shows post-backup:

There are a *lot* of files that are being copied a-ok... it's just those few and there are no Excluded Files & Folders save "Recycle Bin":

There is a fix in 6.7.5 that applies to your backup job

  • Fixed an issue where rsync local-to-remote backup jobs would only back up the top-level folder.

Updated to 6.7.5, rebooted, re-ran the backup twice, but no change: same results.

Any other thoughts?

Re: Backup Job Not Copying Certain Files

I'm assuming you checked the backup log, and didn't find any errors.

Maybe try creating a second empty share, and create a new backup job for it, and see if that copies everything?  If so, you could delete the primary share, and rename the second one.

That's at best a workaround though, so you'd need to keep monitoring the backup to make sure everything was copied.

Re: Backup Job Not Copying Certain Files

Yes: Log looks good as far as I can see.   I am guessing that the list of source-device shares at the end of the log is normal.

I manually synch'd both shares yesterday, and now am down to two diffs that were created late yesterday afternoon.

Here's the log:

Backup Job Name: Temp
Backup Job Type: Incremental
Protocol: rsync
Backup Source: [remote:rsync]/NAS::
Backup Destination: [Temp]/
Backup Start Time: Tue Jul 4 2017 9:02:00
Backup Finish Time: Tue Jul 4 2017 9:02:04
Backup Status: Success

I am confused by this stuff, there's nothing like it in my logs.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger.... -)

But I have deleted the log and rerun at least 3 times and the same stuff keeps getting appended.

FWIW, it appears to be a listing of each share and it's "Remarks" on the Ultra-6 that the backup job is reading from

Re: Backup Job Not Copying Certain Files

Do you get the same results if you run the rsync job on the other NAS?
