Backup Jobs will not update password

I have a Readynas 314 setup to copy files from a server as a backup. my backup jobs have been working fine for the last 4 months. I recently changed the password for the user credentials that was used for the backups. I have tried to update the password for the user in the backup jobs but they don't seam to stick. Anyone have a fix for this other then re-creating all of the backup jobs?

Re: Backup Jobs will not update password

What version of ReadyNAS OS are you running?

Do other settings changes stick?

Other setting changes work just fine.

Have you tried clearing your web browser cache, closing your web browser then opening the web admin UI again?

Re: Backup Jobs will not update password

Yes I have. Right now my only option it looks like is to delete the backup jobs and re-create them with the new password. I don't really want to do this because of the time it will take to start a full backup all over again.

Can you send me your logs (see the link in my sig)?

Re: Backup Jobs will not update password

Logs were set.
I am still able to delete the backup jobs. I have re-created some of the backup jobs, but there are still a few that I have not yet.

Thanks for your help

The logs were not attached to the message. Can you try sending your logs again?

Re: Backup Jobs will not update password

Hi,

I have the same issue on my 102 (for the past two versions - I now run on 6.2.2). Basically the issue is that when you try to update the password it looks like it has done it (also confirmed by "test connection" both before and after saving/applying the changes) - however, if you then try to run the back up (manually or per schedule) the password resets to the previous password, which results in that the backup target volume is unable to mount.

As being said this is hugely inconvenient since it requires setting up a new backup job that will do a complete backup (vs. incremental) - I change password frequently and my backup target is 30GB so it is a right pain every time this happens.

The log extract is:

Backup Job Name: TMP Folder
Backup Job Type: Incremental
Protocol: cifs
Backup Source: [remote:cifs]///192.168.0.110/TMP
Backup Destination: [Backup]/TMP
Backup Start Time: Tue Mar 24 2015 9:56:14
Backup Finish Time: Tue Mar 24 2015 9:56:14
Backup Status: Fail: source cannot be mounted on the system.

Re: Backup Jobs will not update password

This is still a problem for me even after preforming a factory reset on one of my 314 models.

Please fix this problem. I am amazed that only 2 people have had this issue with the firmware.

Re: Backup Jobs will not update password

Does your password have special characters in it.

When you set the new password in the backup job settings did you also re-enter the username?
