Backup failure when using hostname
I'm attempting to create a backup of a local folder on my computer to my NAS. I have successfully created the backup (test comes back fine), but when I go to run it, it fails. The error I show in the logs is: "Error backup job Photos: Source cannot be mounted on the system."
I did some troubleshooting and the backup runs successfully when using the computer's IP address, but fails when I input the hostname. I've checked the hostname just to be sure no layer 8 errors were occuring, but I'm kind of stuck here. I'd rather not give my computer a static IP just to get around this.
Here's the full log:
Backup Job Name: Photos
Backup Job Type: Full
Backup Source: [remote:cifs]///***hostname***/Photos
Backup Destination: [Backup]/Photos
Backup Start Time: Wed Apr 17 2019 7:24:23 PM
Backup Finish Time: Wed Apr 17 2019 7:24:25 PM
Backup Status: Fail: Source cannot be mounted on the system.
Re: Backup failure when using hostname
That's actually a great idea. I don't know why I didn't think of that. And you're right, it makes more sense for the NAS as well. I kinda wish it just worked with hostname, but to be honest I'm tired of messing with it.
