Backup log files truncating
We are having a frustrating problem with backup.
The log files are truncating so that on failure we cannot find the cause, file in use, file name ( or path )too long, bad characters in file name, etc.
This has been an issue with the OS 6 versions we have been using, currently 6.5.0.
On our older 3100's running radiator the logs did not truncate.
The primary use for the 3220 is backup, so it is valuable for us to know the status of the job in detail.
Any suggestions?

Re: Backup log files truncating
Hi Markwoll,
If you download all the logs from System>Logs on the left there is "Download Logs". This should give you un-truncated log data. Then we can diagnose the issue with the backups failing.

Re: Backup log files truncating
What devices are you backing up to/from?
What kind of backup job are you running?
Did the backup jobs start failing before or after the update to 6.5.0?

Re: Backup log files truncating
We are backing up from Windows server 2008 r2 and server 2012 NTFS volumes using rsync. I can get the version tomorrow.
We backup files from a number of sources to the readynas 3220 and then use backupexec to move them to an exagrid for dedupe tapeless storage and replication between sites.
The downloaded logs are truncated with an error message. The successful backups are also truncated, there is no need to examine the logs for those. When there is an error in the backup on the older models running Radiator ( 3100 ) we were getting the complete log file downloded. If there was an error we could generally find the offending file or cause in the logs. When we upgraded to the 3220 with OS 6 we started having this issue. It has not resolved through firmware upgrades of OS 6. We are currently on 6.5.0.
We have upgraded an older 3100 to OS6 and had the same issues ( unsupported, I know ).
