Backups not working following upgrade to firmware 6.9.0

Since I upgraded my Readynas to 6.9.0, none of my backups that were previously set up, have worked. If I start them, they go to the "In Progress" state and thereafter they get stuck.

I've attached a screen shot showing the system log

Re: Backups not working following upgrade to firmware 6.9.0

I noticed that too.

ReadyNAS 314 with ReadyOS 6.8.1 (and previous versions) backup jobs worked flawlessly. Just after the unit was upgraded to ReadyOS 6.9.0 I noticed that specifically two backup jobs (from a Remote:cifs share of a Windows host to a cifs share on the NAS) show "In Progress..." (Last Backup timestamps shown on the Backup web page look updated as if the jobs were effectively done but their respective logs where instead frozen - see on the attached screenshot - on the latest successfull backup job performed timestamp when the unit was still running ReadyOS 6.8.1, in my case pre-26 October)...and I'm quite sure that those backups jobs are practically dead.

Same as you, I see logged lines like:

  • Sat Oct 28 2017 5:21:22 Backup: Successfully completed backup job NAS01_to_USB_Backup_SRV2012R2.
  • Fri Oct 27 2017 22:30:58 Backup: Successfully completed backup job NAS01_to_USB_Backup_ESXi_VMs.
  • Fri Oct 27 2017 19:05:01 Backup: Backup job Night WAM Uploader files backup to NAS01 is already in progress. Consider adjusting backup schedule.
  • Fri Oct 27 2017 14:11:45 Backup: Successfully completed backup job NAS01_to_USB_Server_Software.
  • Fri Oct 27 2017 12:05:13 Backup: Backup job Day WAM Uploader files backup to NAS01 is already in progress. Consider adjusting backup schedule.
  • Fri Oct 27 2017 7:11:33 Backup: Successfully completed backup job NAS01_to_USB_Backup_SQL.

  • Thu Oct 26 2017 8:42:40 Backup: Successfully completed backup job NAS01_to_USB_Server_Software.
  • Thu Oct 26 2017 8:29:52 System: ReadyNASOS background service started.
  • Thu Oct 26 2017 8:29:29 System: Firmware was upgraded to 6.9.0.
  • Thu Oct 26 2017 8:29:30 System: External storage device connected.
  • Thu Oct 26 2017 8:26:19 System: The system is rebooting.
  • Thu Oct 26 2017 7:13:08 Backup: Successfully completed backup job NAS01_to_USB_Backup_SQL.
  • Thu Oct 26 2017 5:22:22 Backup: Successfully completed backup job NAS01_to_USB_Backup_SRV2012R2.
  • Wed Oct 25 2017 22:33:38 Backup: Successfully completed backup job NAS01_to_USB_Backup_ESXi_VMs.

All other backup jobs seem to work correctly but those are backup jobs from a cifs share on the NAS to a USB external disk (EXT4 formatted) connected to the NAS...so it really seems that affected backup jobs are those from a Windows host to the NAS, not those from the NAS to the directly attached USB disk.

Clearly I already revised settings for those two problematic backup jobs but I haven't noticed any particular issue or change (On Source I performed the "Test Connection" and it gave positive result providing the "Succesfully connected to..." message, also Destination - on the NAS - is correctly browseable).
