Best plan for Disaster Recovery?
We currently have a ReadyNAS 3118 (16tb) and are wishing to implement a Disaster Recovery plan. Our current thoughts are to use either the backup option or ReadyDR option (your thoughts) to copy the data to a 2nd ReadyNAS device (on the same network) and then backup the 2nd ReadyNAS device to the Cloud somehow.
Any suggestions regarding this senario?
Thanks.

Re: Best plan for Disaster Recovery?
Personally I use daily Rsync backup jobs to back up my RN526x to other NAS for ordinary recovery, and supplement that with cloud backup for disaster recovery. Disabling SMB, AFP, and NFS on the backup NAS is a good idea, as it limits the possibility of malware directly reaching the backup NAS via a PC or Mac.
ReadyDR has it's advantages, but one thing to consider is whether you need the backup storage to be immediately available if the primary NAS were to fail. ReadyDR isn't a highly available solution.
