Blind OS reinstall, Pro Pioneer with a dead display

I'm in a bit of a jam, but isn't everyone who posts here? 😄
I've had my Pro Pioneer for 4 years and it's been rock solid except that the front panel OLED died about a year ago. It will not turn on with a brief power button press.
This would normally not be a big deal since Frontview will tell me everything I need to know. Problem is, I need to do an OS reinstall. In order to do this on the Pro Pioneer, you need to hold down the reset button, power on the unit, and then cycle through the boot menu using the backup button on the front. The boot menu would be displayed on the OLED display, hence, my problem.

I've submitted a support case about getting the display replaced since it's still under HW warranty. But if I can do with without the display, all the better. Means I don't need to potentially send it in for repair, have it get damaged in shipping, get a refurb unit in return, etc, etc.

There are 7 boot modes on the Pro which one would cycle through by pressing the backup button on the front per this:
http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ReadyNAS_Ultra_UltraPlus_NVX_Pro_HW_en_8July11.pdf
When the correct mode is displayed, I would press the reset button in the back again to boot into that mode. Since I'm blind (no display) I don't know what order these are in. I don't want to trial-and-error this and accidentally select the factory default mode (and wipe the disks). I need to find the OS reinstall mode.

Here's my big ask to this community. Can someone verify on their Pro, the order of the boot menu, what is displayed when it first comes up, and what modes are displayed each time the backup button is pressed?

Thanks!
Tom

Do you have SSH access?

The warranty on the Pioneer is 3 years. Are you sure you have the Pioneer?

No SSH access currently. I had SSH access until it started acting up but I think it's now in a state where new add-on's aren't really taking effect. I can't even power cycle the box using FrontView, I need to physically power cycle it using the button. Need to reinstall the OS.

I do have the Pro Pioneer, yes . I got it the day/week it was released Jan 2009. Verified my warranty is good until 09/Jan/2014 on this serial number on my.netgear.com

Well something's wrong there. The Pro Business Edition has a 5 year warranty whereas the Pro Pioneer has a 3 year warranty.

I suggest you wait and see what support has to say and report back here

Confirmed, Netgear will replace it (again, this is based on the serial #). Doesn't really matter if it's a Pro Pioneer or a Pro Business for my problem to be resolved. I need to know the Boot Menu sequence (see original post)... I want to avoid RMA if possible. Do you know the boot sequence? If not, no worries, I will PM some individuals directly.

Thanks,
Tom
