Boot-up - Auto connect 3 NAS Duo in correct order.....

Hi

I have 3 NASDuo's which I use just for my iTunes.
Everytime I boot up my iMac (lion) I have to click on Finder, Find NAS1 (afp) and click on it, then click on the media folder..
Then I do the same for NAS2 and then finally NAS3.

Only then can I launch iTunes.
If the NAS's are connected in the wrong sequence, then it messes up my iTunes.

My question is this.... can I tell my MAC on boot-up too connect them for me automatically, in the correct order?

Thanks 😄

Re: Boot-up - Auto connect 3 NAS Duo in correct order.....

The issue is probably because each of your NAS has shares with the same name. If you are mounting the share "media" from each, then the MAC will mount them as:

/Volumes/media
/Volumes/media-1
/Volumes/media-2

Therefore, depending on order, media will be available at one of those paths but iTunes of course will expect to always find the media at the same path.

Option 1 (May work): Add the connections to your login items in the correct order.
Option 2: Create a script to force the shares to mount at specific paths you designate, rather than use the defaults employed by Finder.
Option 3: Do not name all your shares the same. That way, no matter what the order they are mounted in you will get the same paths used.

eg Name the shares media1, media2, media3 and then they will always mount as:

/Volumes/media1
/Volumes/media2
/Volumes/media3

Hi, thanks for the reply...

Yeah, I thought the same about each NAS having the same name 'media'

I've tried your option 1 but it didn't work.
I will try option 3 and rename the drives diffrently
