Can I log out while restoring data
Just resturing data from USB to the hard disk. It says its going to take 10 hours to finish. Am I OK to log out of the web interface or will it stop the restore?

Yes you can log out of the GUI.
Is it running as a backup job?

Well, just make sure the nas isn't scheduled to power off before the move is finished.
Is the USB disk attached to the nas?
How did you initiate the move? From your PC? Ssh?

Power Saving - I've only set to shut down the disks after 30 mins fo inactivity
Inititated from withing the web interface by highlighting the files on the USB disk and celecting "cut". Then Pasted onto the share

Re: Can I log out while restoring data
Cut and paste is not a good idea. Cut normally removes the data from the source.
If something happens during the transfer you may lose all the cut data.
Running a backup job is far more sensible. Then you can verify that the restore is ok before wiping the source if you wanted to.

Re: Can I log out while restoring data
Copy/Paste for the restore, followed by cut afterwards on the source is another approach that is safer.
Though if you are copying everything in the source folder (and if the source drive is connected to the NAS), a one-time backup job is easy to set up, and is a better way overall. It runs fully unattended.
