Can I upgrade from Radiator 4.1.15 to 5.3.12?

Hi there, I have downloaded V5.3.12 but do not seem to be able to upgrade it using Raidar Local upgrade option.  If I try to upgrade using Frontview it tells me that V4.1.15 is the latest version.

Hope you can help.

If your NAS is running 4.1.15, it's a "SPARC" or "4.1" generation. It can only run 4.1 firmwares. You cannot install a 5.x firmware.

Thanks, thought that might be the case. So the V2 can be either SPARC or ARM architecture?

No - V1 is always sparc and V2 is always arm.

The labels are confusing because Netgear generally uses "v2, v3, ..." to denote small hardware revisions to the base model in the part number.  See this guide- http://www.rnasguide.com/2012/01/09/how-to-tell-whether-i-have-a-duo-v1-or-duo-v2-or-nv-v1-or-nv-v2/

IMO Netgear made a serious mistake when they launched the "NV+ v2" and "Duo v2"  They should have used different branding.  The mis-step has created a lot of confusion here ever since.
