Can Not Change Boot Menu Options, Only Normal Shows Up
I just purchased a ReadyNAS NV v2+ yesterday.
After the intial sync and updating to 5.35, I created a couple of users and rebooted the NAS. One of the users I created disappeared from the security menu. I can still connect to it with that user, but I can't administer it.
Looks like this guy is having the same problem: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=63636
It's not a browser issue. I used Chrome, Firefox and Safari. No dice on any of them.
As such, I figured a reinstall of the OS (good start, not even a day in and I have to boot/nuke) would be the way to go. So I shutdown the NAS, and invoke the boot menu. Normal comes up. I can not change any options. Pressing backup doesn't change anything. I know the backup menu button works, as once the NAS booted up again, attaching a USB drive and pressing the Backup button popped a couple of notifications in my ReadyNAS dashboard.
Faulty unit? Or am I doing something wrong?

Re: Can Not Change Boot Menu Options, Only Normal Shows Up
If you have just set up your NAS and have not all'ready put all your data on it or you have all data backed up somewhere else,
for good measure after updating to the new 5.3.5 firmware do a factory reset and to get a nice clean install on new firmware,
I know its a pain but it can iron out any bugs after firmware update as you have all'ready tried OS reinstall with no luck.
WARNING! The factory default reboot process resets the unit to factory settings, erases all data, resets all defaults, and reformats the disk to X-RAID2.

Swapped units. New one works, although there's a giant spec of dust on the LCD screen. Good grief. WTB 1 proper ReadyNAS.
