Can't Access Newly Created Shares
After handling an incident with bad drives our ReadyNAS unit was replaced. Now, the first time we created a share since that actiity, we discovered we cannot access the new sharess.
We are using SHARE security. The firmware level is shown below:
Model: ReadyNAS NV+ [X-RAID]
Serial: 23J5177L00D64
Firmware: RAIDiator 4.1.12 [1.00a043]
Memory: 256 MB [2.5-3-3-7]
I have tried creating the shares manually and with the wizard. Default security was accepted and no passwords were set on the new shares. I checked the standard and advanced options under the access icons and could find no difference between the working shares and the new ones.
The symtom shows as a user\password request. No combination of known users and passwords have worked.
When examining the share properties in winodws, there is no security tab. The working shares have a security tab. Simple file sharing was not being used. The same symtoms occure when attempting to access the shares with Windows XP Pro, Windows 7 Pro, and Windows Server 2003.
Is this a ReadyNAS failure or am I missing something in my setup?

Re: Can't Access Newly Created Shares
The general recommendation is to switch to user mode security.

Yes I saw that, thanks. My problem is to find where to switch to user mode security. I cannot find it!
