Can't access Frontview after removing disk 1
I am in the process of upgrading from 2 x 1 TB to 2 x 2 TB.
Disk one was removed when the ReadyNAS Duo was running, after that the nas is inaccessible over AFP and Frontview.
Shouldn't the nas be responsive with just one disk?
The status is unchanged after inserting the new 2 TB disk.
All leds are blinking after system restart. The green ones goes like SOS - consisting of three short, three long, three short.

Re: Can't access Frontview after removing disk 1
I have no idea what's happened.
I managed to work around it. Removed the old disk 2 and reinstalled the "uncontaminated" old disk 1 and booted, that made the trick.
When I reinstalled the old disk 2 again after booting the system froze, but after a while it woke up with this message:
So I guess that something was changed on disk 2 in the RAID array when the new disk was inserted. But now the old disk is being resynced.
Hot Swap - yeah right.

A SATA reset has been performed on one or more of your disks that may have affected the RAID parity integrity. It is recommended that you perform a RAID volume resync from the RAID Settings tab ( accessible in the Volumes page => Volume tab in FrontView ). The resync process will run in the background, and you can continue to use the ReadyNAS in the meantime.

Re: Can't access Frontview after removing disk 1
hot swap has always worked for me, and has the advantage the the NAS detects the new disk insertion.
What model are your 2 TB drives?

Hitachi 5K300, I've read a lot of good about them in the forum and they are of the old 512 k standard.
