Cannot create RAID 10 array on RN628X
Hi! I just bought an RN628X and installed 8 6 TB drives WD6003FFBX which are on the HCL. In addition, I have upgraded to firmware 6.10.2.
I have formatted all the disks and destoyed any volumes and when I try to create a new RAID 10 volume with all the disks, I get a 'One or more of the selecred disks for the new volume could not be found. Please verify that they are properly installed and try again. Volume creation failed.
Code 14003010000
The file I have attached has all the screen shots of the process I used.
Thanks for any help you can offer!
I went back and looked at the logs. Drive 8 didn't format. The error says:
Format disk faile: The disk may be part of an active volume or may contain the last system OS mirror
Format disk failed
Code 14007010003

Re: Cannot create RAID 10 array on RN628X
Your best next step is to connect the drive to a PC either via a SATSA to USB dock or directly to an internal SATA port and run Western Digital Data Lifeguard to see if the drive is failing. If it passes, then try deleting any partitions that are on it and then return it to the NAS and re-try formatting.

You can also run the "erase disk" test in Lifeguard. The "quick" erase test will unformat the disk(s).
