Cant get a full scanning of my library using LMS or! SBS

I am at a end here!

Since LMS 771 I can not scan my music library. There is the unexpected stop, always around 7000 files but it differs, and when searching for new files the scanner get stuck between 100 och 200 files.

I have tried to remove entire large folders where the scanner seams to stop but it just get stuck elsewhere.

I did install LMS 772 and installed RAIDiator 4.2.20-T42. Changed nothing. Reverted to LMS770, SBS 762 SBS 751 and LMS 780. Nothing helps.

I got my logs posted in these forums:

Re: Cant get a full scanning of my library using LMS or! SBS

My setup. Squeezebox duet. Readynas ultra 2 with one 2TB disk in bay 2, bay 1 is empty. I am not a power user of my nas... I update the software regularly (well almost). The only uses for the nas is squeezecenter, transmission and regular shares.

Before I did my first new full scan från a long time ago was when I did a full makeover om my music library. Almost done I did experience some weird ownership/only read access on some files (self changing). Did redo the read/write access in my shareview, 2 or 3 times before I was done. Can this be related? My guess was that LMS had detected the changes in my library and stated to scan och therefor the files was locked.

Re: Cant get a full scanning of my library using LMS or! SBS

Thought I'd add my situation to the list as I've been having the same problem.
Using a ReadyNas NV+ and SB Touch. Had 7.7.1 installed then it just stopped completing new music scans. I've now tried installing 7.7.2 and earlier versions,7.6.2, but it's always the same.
I tried pulling out the files it was stopping on when I scanned, not aways the same ones though.
I have recently installed new discs in the ReadyNas but everything was working fine till a copule of days ago.
Trawled through the other reports on various SB forums and seems like a few of us have the issue
Any magic cure:)

Re: Cant get a full scanning of my library using LMS or! SBS

I am completely frustrated. So 2 weeks ago I had everything working fine, but had a firmware issue. So after a few OS FW's I decided to do a complete factory reset and data reload. So my Ulta 4+ is back up and running. All data is back. But now Any version of LMS or even the older SBS will not do a complete scan. I have 40K+ of music and its stops at 351 ish each time. I have searched the logs to no avail, the scannner and server logs dont give me much infomation. I have removed files that it seems to stop on and then it still stops. I have tried full wipe scans, new music scans, and everything else. I have put the beta version radiator on (4.2.20-T42) and that hasnt fixed the issue. I even decided to downgrade the LMS to SBS (7.5) which was the version that previously worked before my factory reset, and it stops as well.

Any help from the forum would be appreciated.

Posted some feedback on resolving this issue:
http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=62877#p358166

Extra info:
More logging details can be set in the LMS Web Settings menu / Advanced / Logging / set all scanning related topics to "Debug" (most detailled level).
Also make sure to enable: "Save logging settings for use at next application restart" option.
You need to restart LMS server via ReadyNas Admin Web interface for the new logging settings to take place.

Re: Cant get a full scanning of my library using LMS or! SBS

Extra tip:
You can disable the scanning of playlist files to avoid scan process to get stuck on playlist files with referencing issues:
Go to LMS Web Interface, click on settings: http://nas:9000/settings/index.html
Select Advanced / Choose "File types" in drop down menu /
Disabled Audio File Extensions: cue
Disabled Playlist File Extensions: cue, m3u
You can re-enable these playlist files again, once you got through your complete music collection scan.
