Odd issue regarding front view backup job. Setup - ReadyNAS Duo (V1). Radiator 4.1.10, USB drive attached to rear port, backup job to backup one share (50 gig) to the USB disk (NTFS format), target folder name Backup (with an uppercase B).
If a folder "backup" (lowercase b) already exisits on the USB disk, the backup job creates another folder of "Backup" (uppercase B) and backs up the share to that folder. ReadyNAS are I believe Linux based, which can handle Backup/backup as different folder names. Windows XP/7 normally considers Backup and backup to be the same folder, and yet, when a drive is mapped to the external disk via the NAS drive, the two folders of the same name, but different case appear.
From a cmd prompt, I am unable to create two folders of the same name but differnt case from a Windows 7 or XP workstation, which is exactly has it should be.
mdgm - Agreed, on Linux folders are case sensitive, but the USB disk is 'apparently' NTFS, which isn't. You are right and I shall have to be more exact on the naming of the folders via Windows and Front View. As for the version of my NAS, that is mighty interesting. Fooled by a sticker on the unit I was.
Actually the NTFS filesystem supports case-sensitive names for files/directories. If it didn't then what happened in your case wouldn't have been possible.
Yes there are limitations on the Windows side that mean naming two folders/files with the same name except for the case of some letters isn't a good idea.

Profile updated. Shortly after posting the original question, I upgraded to a an Ultra 2+ so I could enjoy the improved speed. The Duo V1 was achieving about 23MS/s the Ultra 2+ a very nice 77MB/s if the files are a decent size. This is with Jumbo enabled.
