Check for updates not connecting

Usually when I click on the main page "Check for updates" it almost immeidately comes back saying "You are running the latest" or something like that.
Today it takes 5 or 10 seconds and comes back saying "Operation timeout. Communication error. Check your Internet connection or DNS Settings."
What's strange is that I can access the unit fine via ReadyCLOUD and it's operating fine on the network too.
I've made sure the static address is correct and that it's reserved in my router software. I rebooted the cable modem, the router and the NAS. I also shut off and turned back on the swtich to witch the NAS is attached.
Each time I get the same message. Any ideas?
Thank you.

Hello Blues11,
The update server included 6.6.0 yesterday, that could be the reason why you were having some issues when checking for updates. Nevertheless, I am glad it works now and thank you for confirming that everything's okay now.

Re: Check for updates not connecting
Hello Blues11,
How about adding 8.8.8.8 as DNS address in the admin page's Network > Eth 0 or 1> Settings > IPv4? Then test again.

Re: Check for updates not connecting
A friend got the same issue today after the firmware update.
Try to disable the IPv6 support on your network interfaces.
It solved the issue here.

Re: Check for updates not connecting
Hi JennC,
I tested that and it seems to work.
I also updated to 6.6.0 and went back to my old DNS, that worked also now.
Thanks for the support.
Regards
Hans

Re: Check for updates not connecting
Yes, thanks for all the tips. I'm up and running with 6.6.0.
The strange thing is that I didn't do anything. I checked on my Network and I have always had IPv6 disabled. I had also had 8.8.8.8 set up under DNS Servers. So I'm not sure that it's anything I did.
Regardless, the system's working fine. Thank you again.
