Comparing files between a local ReadyNAS and a remote ReadyNAS
Can anyone suggest the most efficient way to carry out a comparison between a local ReadyNAS and a remote ReadyNAS? I have Beyond Compare if that's useful? I assume I somehow need to mount the remote NAS as a Network drive but have no idea how I might do so...
Thanks

Re: Comparing files between a local ReadyNAS and a remote ReadyNAS
How many files are we talking about? Are they identically organized?
On option is to use something like QuickSFV (or maybe Quickpar) to build checksum files for each share on one system, then get those checksum files to the remote site. You can then verify the checksums from a PC on the remote machine. Both quickSFV and quickpar can both create checksum files and verify.
That avoids the speed issues you'd run into doing this over the internet, and the hassle of setting up secure remote access.
Note you could even generate/verify the checksums remotely if you have remote desktop access to a PC on the remote network.
