Corrupt Root on NVX Pioneer Edition
Hello, I have an NVX Pioneer Edition unit that I have had selved and never used for about 6 months. I just purchased 4 of the Western Digital 3tb RED drives for this unit. I take the drives out of the static bag and insert them. I hold down the reset button, press the power button, I then select with the backup button the option of Factory Default and then press the reset button again. Every time I have done this and pressed setup from RAIDar for x-raid2 I get corrupt root from RAIDar along with "Raid creation failed" on the LCD of the unit, over and over and over and over and over...
I have used the western digital lifeguard diagnostics software to do a "write zeros" and drive test to make sure the drives all pass and to remove any partitions from the drives.
Still no luck.
Can anyone point me into the next step to try?

Re: Corrupt Root on NVX Pioneer Edition
Update, I am an owner of an older Sparc based NV unit and had 4 1tb Samsung drives laying around. I took all of the WD Red 3tb drives out and put the 1tbs in. Now the unit is creating volume, WHAT GIVES! So now after the volume is up I will do the slow process of taking one drive at a time out and replacing with the 3tbs and then do expansion.....geeeerrrrrrrrrrr. Why do I have to do this on 4 drives that pass tests and are on the HW compat list??

Updating to 4.2.20 because I had 4.2.15 installed. 4.2.20 fixes 3tb drive recognition. So if I didn't have these disks laying around how could I have ever got this system up?

Re: Corrupt Root on NVX Pioneer Edition
So to recap, 4.2.15 was the problem and not recognizing the 3tb drives. I put old 1tb drives in came up then updated firmware to 4.2.20 and now 3tb drives recognized and volume is created and online. Woohoo! That took some extra doing...

Re: Corrupt Root on NVX Pioneer Edition
A single 3TB disk might have worked for updating the firmware. If it didn't and you opened a support case that was escalated to L3 support they probably would've been able to remote in (if given access) to update the firmware
