Corrupt root, already tried factory reset
Hi all,
I just bought a brand new ReadyNAS duo v2 as well as 2 new 3tb seagate.
Firstly, RAIDar is not recognising one of the drives. I really have no idea why. No matter which slot I put the drive in it is not recognised.
Also, when i press setup in RAIDar I get a "Corrupt root" error. I looked this up and found that if the drives are used they need to be formatted. Mine are new but I didn't see any other solution so I tried this anyway. I have tried this twice but still getting the same error.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thank you,
Mayank

Re: Corrupt root, already tried factory reset
They need to be unformatted drives (i.e. have no partitions on them). The NAS will format the drives.
It's possible a drive might be dead or there is some other issue.
What happens if you try booting with just the drive that is recognised installed? If that works try hot-adding (add while NAS is on) the second drive and see what happens.

Re: Corrupt root, already tried factory reset
Thanks for the reply mdgm
Sorry, what I meant was:
" I looked this up and found that if the drives are used they need to be reformatted by doing a factory reset"
I thought that the new drives I bought might have some default preexisting format that comes standard, so I have done the factory reset twice and unfortunately the corrupt root error persists
I will try your suggestion about using just the recognised drive tonight.
