DLNA problems?
Hi, I think this may be a common problem as I've seen similar posts in this forum but haven't managed to find a solution that works for me.
I have a ReadyNAS 104 and have the latest firmware (6.1.9) installed. I have set up some folders in shares as follows.
Video
Music
Photos
I can see and access them all from my PC and remotely via the internet but my DNLA enabled devices at home (all connected on via Netgear gigalan switches and router) can only see the Video folder. Just a few days ago all three folders could be seen and accessed by my home DLNA enabled devices but now only the videos folder is visible. I have also noticed that sometimes new files are not seen right away by the DLNA enabled devices but only show up after the ReadyNAS has been rebooted.
All the folders are setup the same and I have Ready DLNA enabled, I have also done several rescans via the Rescan button in the ReadyDNLA setting but this make no difference. Incidentally I only updated to 6.1.9 today hoping it may help but it hasn't 😞
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Re: DLNA problems?
Any clues in the logs as to e.g. some files ReadyDLNA might not like?

Re: DLNA problems?
Hi
Yes, I noticed it doesn't seem to like some jpg files but the thing is that these are not recent files they have been there all the time and it has not had any problem with them before.

Re: DLNA problems?
Often this problem occurs because a specific media file is causing the media scan to crash, so it never completes.
Are you seeing all the files in the video folder? You could try turning DLNA off for all the shares, and try enabling them one at a time (re-scanning, and checking to see if you are seeing them externally before moving to the next)). Do video last.
