Data Degraded but Volumes are fine?

We've got a ReadyNAS 312. It's a 2 disc RAID 1 setup.

We've received email alerts that the volume is degraded.

When we login to the web GUI, it shows the volume is degreded, but both discs appear to be ok (screens attached).

When we hover over a disc to get more info, it shows volume state as 'NEW' however all data, shares etc, appear to be intact.

Can someone please let us know what is going on?

Happy to forward logs.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Data Degraded but Volumes are fine?

Hi @ehanced

Welcome to the Commuinity!

Getting a Data degraded warning means data redundancy is at risk. Any disk failure might result to data loss.

Replacing a failing disk is important and you should update your full back up so we can avoid data loss.

You can check smart_history.log or you can send us the logs so we can check for any disk errors (ATA, reallocated, current pending)

Hope this helps!

Regards
