Do EDA500 drives spin down?
Do the drives in an EDA500 spin down? I notice that the temperature is unavailable on the drives in the RN516 when they are spun down. But I never see that condition on the drives in my EDA500's. Are the drives in the EDA500 ever spun down? If not, is that intentional or a bug?

Re: Do EDA500 drives spin down?
Hi @Sandshark
Disk spin down will not happen on the EDA expansion chassis as noted on this article.

Re: Do EDA500 drives spin down?
OK. So is "Disks in the EDA expansion chassis will not spin down for reliability and performance reasons." based on not being able to spin them up simultaneously via the port multiplier?

Re: Do EDA500 drives spin down?
Most probably that would be the case, to eliminate any issues with getting the disks back online or due to the eSATA connection.
Hope this helps!
