Duo does not work.can you connect readynas to laptop direct?
Ok, I am staying at a friends house for a couple of weeks so have brought my Duo with me. I wanted to update my itunes library on my readynas by plugging the readynas into my laptop by ethernet cable directly (without the router i usually use).
I started raidar and it prompted me to update to newest version which I did. Raidar located my readynas but i cannot setup with frontview or browse the damn thing using windows explorer or firefox. the readynas adrress is now 192.168.168.168, is this correct?
I swear this thing has been nothing but a nightmare it never "just works". something this expensive should just plug and play.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Lea

Re: Duo does not work.can you connect readynas to laptop dir
Hello Lea,
The default IP address of the ReadyNAS is 192.168.168.168. You will get this IP address anytime the ReadyNAS is unable to get an IP address from a DHCP server. In order to connect to your ReadyNAS you will need to change your ethernet adapter to be in the same network, i.e. computer IP 192.168.168.167. You should then be able to connect to the ReadyNAS. Otherwise you should be able to connect it to any router and get an IP address. If it is not getting an IP address you can do an OS reinstall. This process does not touch the data but does change the IP settings and admin password back to default.
If you have more questions or need further assistance you can create an online support ticket.
