Error when trying to delete snapshot
Tried using another topic that´s related to this problem but since I didn´t get any answers I will try creating a separate topic.
My volumes are filling up with data and I regularly manually deletes snapshots to free data. But since some months ago I´m not able to do so. I get an error when i try.
28004020002
Error in delete snapshot
Code: 28004020002
Anyone have a clue what to do?

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
Some of your snapshots were not upgraded when you updated to 6.2.4 recently. Sent you a PM.

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
JMcintosh, your error has a different number and your system came with 6.2.x so it is a different issue.
I would suggest turning off snapshot access then trying to delete the snapshots again.
To turn off snapshot access,
Go to Shares, click on the share, click on Settings and under properties uncheck Allow Snapshot Access.
Don't forget to click Apply.
If it still does not work try rebooting your NAS and try again
Let us know if this helps.

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
mdgm,
Snapshot access was not enabled. I enabled snapshot access and then was able to delete snapshots.
Thanks for the tip.

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
martin991's system has been fixed. Just had a look remotely. After deleting the snapshots that had not been upgraded deleting snapshots using the web admin interface worked fine again.
Recommended a defrag and balance.
Considering the volume has never been defragmented since it was created back in 2013 it will take some time.

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
I just want to say that mdgm helped me in a perfect way! Thank you so much for professional and rapid support!
Defraging, balance and then adding an extra drive.
A thought, I waited quite a long time updating the OS so there where a 3-4 editions newer when I finally updated. (going from 6.2.? to 6.2.4) Could that be a reason that snapshots where not updated?

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
You went from 6.1.7 to 6.2.4 if I recall correctly.
Not sure why they weren't upgraded. They are upgraded when you first go to 6.2.0.
Anyway after running some volume maintenance and adding the additional disk, once the resync has completed and volume expanded hopefully you'll see the performance has improved a bit.
If you still have issues let me know.

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
Hmmm got exactly the same error message while trying to erase the snapshops because I have also upgraded my readynas 104 from 6.1 to 6.2.4!
So what I have to make ? I can't erase manually the snapshot but what about the database from the GUI?
thank you.
(I think Netgear should solve this problem)

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
Add me to the list of users experiencing this same error: "28004020002 Error in Delete Snapshot"
Support has been unable to resolve for me thus far. I've tried turning Snapshot Access on & off, but it hasn't helped.
I'm also running 6.2.4 on a RN104, but I have no idea how to determine whether my shares have been upgraded to this same version.
mdgm, if you could offer any help or suggestions, I'd be very grateful.
thx-
Bez

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
"ME TOO". Same problem as wiscobez. I've got an RN316.
Tried everything mdgm suggested here and other forum threads to no avail.
Have call into support (case #25301055), waiting for them to "analyze logs".
Having ssh-ed in as root, I've found the offending snapshot dirs and files, however I'm not going to remove them until/if I get confirmation that's a "good thing" to do.

Re: Error when trying to delete snapshot
I have the same problem trying to delete snapshots. I have a Readynas 3220 running 12 x 4TB drives and my space is almost out (1.5tb left) I have tried to delete the snapshots from the timeline and it doesn't seem to make a difference whether the snapshot access is off or on I get the same message - 28004020002 Error in delete snapshot. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
