External USB 3.0 drops connection
Hi,
I'm new to readynas and could really use some help with this issue.
I have a Readynas ultra 2 running 4.2.24, and I'm having a problem with my extarnal USB 3.0 device (WD Elements Portable USB 3.0 2TB). It is formatted as NTFS and connected to the front USB 3.0 port, and works fine to start with. However, after some time, the device is no longer shown as connected and the share is inaccessable. Checking in frontview, it is at first present, showing a speed of 5000 and everything looks fine. But after some inactivity, the connection is lost, and frontview says "No USB device connected...."
If I reboot the NAS the device is recognized once again, and all is well.
I apologize if this is a problem with an obvious solution, but again, I'm new to this so all help is much appreciated.
Thanks

Re: External USB 3.0 drops connection
For future reference, this was fixed by formatting the usb drive to ext4 and checking (activating) the setting "fast usb disk write" under performance
