External USB Disk dropped on rsync error

Ultra 2 with 6TB WD Reds - upgraded to 4.2.31 but drops an external USB disk on rsync error, the disk is dis-mounted.

Jul 2 09:41:01 dingo4 rsyncd[23531]: rsync: write failed on "/backup/Bronamacnallly.com/Brona's 25th Show/DSC_0002.NEF" (in USB_HDD_1): No space left on device (28)
Jul 2 09:41:01 dingo4 rsyncd[23531]: rsync error: error in file IO (code 11) at receiver.c(322) [receiver=3.0.9]
Jul 2 09:41:01 dingo4 rsyncd[23531]: rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (100 bytes received so far) [generator]
Jul 2 09:41:01 dingo4 rsyncd[23531]: rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(605) [generator=3.0.9]

The disk is 1TB WD Black and is 50% used.

On reboot, the disk is available again, with Size 931GB and used 445GB

Returned to 4.2.30 to see if repeated weekly backup can proceed, as it was for many months beforehand.

thanks,

Simon.

Re: External USB Disk dropped on rsync error

AFAIK 4.2.31 only patches SAMBA to fix the CVE.

Let us know (either way) what happens with 4.2.30.

Re: External USB Disk dropped on rsync error

Thanks - the unit has rebooted and the USB volume mounted without issue & the backup job has completed successfully. But this is what was experienced last week (the Backup job is on a weekly frequency) - so will have to wait until next Sunday, to see if the Backup Job is able to complete, under 4.2.30
