Frontview doesn't save changes

My ReadyNAS Ultra 2 boot and I can access it via Frontview but, no configuration changes can be saved.
I have read about similar problems in other forums
http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=65366&p=363109

I can go through the dialogue to upgrade the firmware or to restore a configuration back-up but, it does not seem to save anything. There is no log. I did an OS reinstall but, the problem persists.

It sounds to the OS is out of space but, there are no instructions to free up space for it. The status lights on the unit and in Raidar 4.2.24 show everything normal.

I have tried to connect via SSH (Putty) but, I have not been able to connect successfully.

It has been running fine for a couple of years with no problems.

Re: Frontview doesn't save changes

go to backup tab to clean all backup logs, I hope this will be able to free up your OS space.

You can also delete the system logs. Do you use ReadyDLNA?

To use ssh you need to enable it on the ultra by installing the addon here: http://www.readynas.com/?p=4203 You want the x86 version of course.

Then when logging in with putty, use "root" as the user and your admin password.

There was a "crash-backup" folder that filled up the 4 GB OS partition. Perhaps you have installed Crashplan but did not configure it properly.

I have crash-backup on my C drive. I believe the cache location can also be set, if so it should also be kept off the OS partition. (Sorting that is still on my to-do list!)
