HDD problem after power loss

Hello all!

Hope someone can help me.

My nas was in sync mode and when it was att 66% I got a power loss in the hose.
Now the has is telling me the drive is bad. and the other HDD is working fine.
I plugged the bad drive to my computer and it works fine there.

I have 2x3 TB WD green and ReadyNAS ULTRA 4

How come only 1 of the drivers does not work anymore in the has but works on my computer.

can anyone help me fix this..

Best Regards

Re: HDD problem after power loss

Have you tested the drive using WD tools?
Can you access your data with the remaining disk in?
If you have access, you must make a backup as your first and immediate step.
If you cannot access your data then contact support.
If you have made a backup and if the extended test with WD testing tools is normal then I'd suggest deleting any partitions from the drive then reinserting it into the NAS with the NAS on.

WD green drives are used by some users but there is the load cycle count issue, have you used the wdidle3 tool? There is a lot of information on this on the forums.

Re: HDD problem after power loss

HDD 1 is OK
HDD 2 is not OK

I have not tested the WD tool software

I plugged out disk 2 and started the has and it works fine and have access to all of the files
I formated and deleted the partition on disk 2 and plugged it in to the has and the has is still saying it's "Bad Disk"

I have fully backup of all of the files

Re: HDD problem after power loss

The next step is to test drive disk 2 with WD's lifeguard program. You need to connect it to a Windows PC to do that.
