IP Camera & Duo
Hi
I was recently burgled and have now purchased an IP camera which I've set up to send me images when it detects motion.
Whilst that works just fine, I was wondering if one of my Duos could be set up to record live video from the camera when it sensed motion?
I'd like it to one of the NAS boxes as they'd be on 24/7 and the NAS consumes far less power than my PC
Like everyone else at pres, money is tight too.

Re: IP Camera & Duo
Well that depends on the setup of the camera. If the camera can be configured to send pictures or movie recordings to a share, then yes, it would be possible.
You might have to set up an open share on the Duo though, with read/write access to anyone, unless you can specify the user used to connect to the share on the IP camera configuration.

Re: IP Camera & Duo
It can save to a PC so I'm guessing it can save to a share. Just had a thought! Would i have to run client software on the Duo?

Re: IP Camera & Duo
If the PC needs that client software to store the images or video, then I'm not sure.
If you can set the destination directly on the camera then I'd guess you don't need the software installed on the Duo.
