Impressive NV+ V2 Performance
I finally populated my ReadyNAS NV+ V2 with 4 Western Digital 3.0TB Red drives (WD30EFRX.)
Network Topology
Netgear WNDR4000 -> DLink DGS-1008G -> Mid 2011 iMac i7 3.4GHz 16GB RAM
File tested was a 12GB MKV file.
Windows 7 (Boot Camp) - CIFS
Read - 72-80MB/s
Write - 28-38MB/s
Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 - CIFS
Read - 44-54MB/s
Write - 22-28MB/s
Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 - AFP
Read - 62-74MB/s
Write - 22-30MB/s
Initially on the Mac side, I had the following options set in my /etc/sysctl.conf
net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0
kern.ipc.maxsockbuf=1048576
net.inet.tcp.recvspace=524288
net.inet.tcp.sendspace=262144
Returning the Mac to default and just using AFP, I'm getting the following.
Read - 88-103.5MB/s (!)
Write - 29-35MB/s
Also, CPU usage has gone down since the 'tweaks' were removed. Go figure. Went from 99.5% of one core to about 55-60% of one core.
Colour (yes I'm Canadian) me impressed.
Now if we could get that write speed up higher...

Re: Impressive NV+ V2 Performance
Your write speeds look similar to what I've seen in reviews - for example here: http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?o ... itstart=10

Re: Impressive NV+ V2 Performance
For higher write speeds you'd want to look to the x86 models (i.e. Ultra/Ultra Plus/Pro). Unfortunately due to the different CPU architecture you can't migrate your disks across to one of those. You would need to transfer your data e.g. across your network.

Ya I saw that a while ago. Wish my write speeds were closer to the 40-45MB mark, at a minimum.
