Initial SetUp of ReadyNAS NV+

Initial SetUp of ReadyNAS NV+

I purchased a ReadyNAS NV+ in 2007 (!) and used it with no problems for a number of years. For whatever reason, it was removed from our network and closeted.

Now, I would like to put it back into service. My primary computer is running Windows 9, presumably W10 soon and the other computers on my network are W10. The unit fired up fine, took quite awhile to go through the boot process, but it is alive.

I am unclear how to get started... any assistance would be appreciated.

Re: Initial SetUp of ReadyNAS NV+

Thanks Dana,

The first line, 'Getting Started with RAIDar' comes up with a Page Not Found and judging by the title, it's just what I need. 🙂

I downloaded and extracted RAIDiator-V4.1.14.zip I just need a kickstart as I'm not sure what steps to use these files.

Re: Initial SetUp of ReadyNAS NV+

Exploring, I found this: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RND2110/RAIDiator4-1_SW_en_06Dec11.pdf

which contains this:

4. Download the version of RAIDar for your computer. You can download RAIDar at http://www.readynas.com/downloads.
5. Launch the installer and follow the onscreen instructions to install RAIDar.
6. Launch RAIDar.
7. Highlight your ReadyNAS system and click the Setup button.

The 'installer'? Where is this found?

Thanks, Dane.

Re: Initial SetUp of ReadyNAS NV+

RAIDar is a PC application (not the NAS firmware).  So you download the executable, and install it like any other windows (or Mac) program.

The current version is 6.1, and you can find the links for it here: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20684/~/readynas-downloads

Though your NAS is quite old, and for some things the older RAIDar (4.3.8) works better.  Unfortunately Netgear has chosen to bury the older version.  But you can find download using the links below.
