Re: Is the ReadyNAS admin page accessible on IPv6?
I am runninng dual stack on OS X, when I turn off ipv4 I could reach admin page using nas-name.local, SMB mount works too. I guess however that this functions over a dicovery system. When I fill in the IPv6 address in the URL bar the browser sees this as a text search.
When I try to SSH to the actual IPv6 address I get a short connection but that drops immediatly.
I remove the # in front of
ListenAddress ::
in
/etc/ssh/sshd_config

Re: Is the ReadyNAS admin page accessible on IPv6?
Hello Dave_Ams,
The IPv6 address on the NAS is dynamic by default. If the computer also has IPv6 address, it should be able to open the admin page of the NAS via NAS' IPv6 address.
The format should be http://[ipv6] where the brakets are important. Ex: http://[fe80::861b:5eff:fe27:3ff8]
To see what IPv6 address it obtained, access the NAS via IPv4 address first then get to Network, then Settings of the LAN/NIC then TCP/IP, this should show the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of the NAS.
Hope this helps.
Regards,

Re: Is the ReadyNAS admin page accessible on IPv6?
Hi JennC,
Thanks for your reply, I have tried using the brackets around the public ipv6 address, this didn't seem to work for the webgui, I can use the public address for SSH partially.
In your example you are using a link local address, is that the address the gui is listening on?
Thanks,
David

Do your PC and your router/switch all support IPv6?

Re: Is the ReadyNAS admin page accessible on IPv6?
Hi mdm,
My network is IPv6 capable, I can now ssh to the global IPv6 address and open the web-gui. using the format https://[address]/admin
Not sure what I did wrong before 😉
Thanks all.
