Join domain option missing from readynas NV+

we have a readynas nv+, I upgraded the firmware to the latest 4.1.16 but the join domain option is missing from it

Can you help how to  enable the join domain?

And also I'm unable to login through ssh as there are no users other than admin account.

Can someone help on how to allow ssh login and user creation?

Thanks alot in advance.

Have you looked in the web ui (security->security mode)?

You install an add-on which you can find here: https://kb.netgear.com/24546/Add-ons-for-RAIDiator-4-1-3-Sparc

The username is root, the password is the same as the NAS admin password.  You can really mess up the OS if you install packages with different credentials (including admin).

The OS is in it's own partition, and that is only 2 GB in size.  It's very important not to let it get too full.  One strategy is to put the new folders on the C volume, and use symlinkx.

The security partition shows only 'Admin Password' and 'User and group Accounts' no 'security mode'.

Also Can you tell me how to install the add-on from the UI front page as I cannot SSH yet and no install option is available in the add-ons.

If you don't see the security mode, then you are likely stuck with user mode.

I have seen this once before ( https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS-in-Business/Join-domain-option-missing-from-Rea... ), but there's no comments from Netgear on the thread, and no solution either.

Install it from system->update->local (installing it like a firmware update).
