.NET Error: Access denied to File Share onReadyNAS Pro2

.NET Error: Access denied to File Share on Linux Server

A patient record program called EZNotes requires .NET 1.1. EZNotes is up to date, and the most up to date version still relies upon .NET 1.1.

.NET returns an error saying that it is denied access to a file on my Linux file server. The network connections are good, mapped drives reconnect, server files structures are browsable and accessible.

The full .NET error message is attached below.

This error seems to occur at random. Even when a client gets this error, the file share is accessible through My Computer. Other computers can use EZNotes to access the file server normally.

This is an ad hoc network with ten XP clients and two 7-Pro clients.

The file server is a NetGear ReadyNAS Pro 2.

The Server shows no errors in its log. The Server’s group permissions are in force and unchanged.

After I re-apply the Server’s permissions, then the client which was denied access is able to access the server.

I do not know why this is occurring. If you had thoughts to share on this matter I would appreciate it.

Thank you.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
