NV+ V2 initiated backups faster?
has anyone else noticed this? or am i just crazy?
I have been backing up (via CIFS/timestamp) from a NV+ v2 (data source) to a NV+ v1 (data destination) with the following scenarios:
1. NV+ v2 initiated backup (5.3.2)
2. NV+ v1 initiated backup (4.1.8)
here are my results:
a. with 1842 files ~2.236GB (jpg):
1. 10:17 (617 sec) = 7.41MB/sec [ that is big B - not little b ]
2. 20:26 (1226 sec) = 3.73 MB/sec
b. with 5 files ~4.571 GB
1. 5:27 (327 sec) = 6.84 MB/sec
2. 10:44 (644 sec) = 3.47 MB/sec
has anyone else seen this?
Why does the initiator affect the backup speed so much?

Re: NV+ V2 initiated backups faster?
The NV+ v2 has a much more powerful CPU than the one in the v1, so if the v2 is doing the bulk of the work then backups are going to be a lot faster.
