NV+ wont get IP address after 4.1.13 update

Hi Guys,

Pulling my hair out here. My NV+ last reported that it needed a reboot for the FW update to take effect, then upon return to work this week find its dead and will not get an IP address instead defaulting to 192.168.168.168.

I have tried a OS reinstall from the boot menu, direct connect (Following guides found elsewhere on this forum) to 2 different PC's changing cables all the usual stuff and nothing.

I'm sure it was at 4.1.12 before the issue, has 3x 1tb drives in X raid and that's about it.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.....

Is the network connection led lit (either green or amber)?

Amber Solid, Green Blinking (Fast)

That is very weird. Amber and Green are not supposed to be simultaneously lit.

Are you running gigabit?

Yip, Sure am: the switch is a TP Link 24 Port Gigabit hub but I have brought the NAS from another location where it was on a Netgear 24port 10/100 hub with a different router cables etc and it has mode no difference.

What leds are lit on the TP Link switch?

There are 2 Green LEDS - One indicates Gigabit Connection - This is stable and the other is activity which is blinking.

Nope, not even when i connect directly between pc and NAS........

Ok guys, getting nowhere so it's disaster recovery time. I have another chassis bought on the same day in the same configuration, can I swap the drives over and if so any advice if it's been done before?

These were supposed to be a pair with one as a backup however the main unit has failed just a few days after I had to rebuild the backup due to virus and the backup was only 50% complete. I can't loose data from either set of drives....

If its the same platform (an NV+ v1, sparc), yes you can swap the disks over, configuration will go with it.
